Chanukah is almost over... WAAAH!

I love Chanukah! Well, I love every holiday for a special reason. Chanukah - lighting the candles, winter, vacation, presents, activities and vacation (yes, I wrote vacation twice). It is now 7:09am, I'm listening to blasting music on my iTouch, checking my email and writing this. I LOVE VACATION!

Last night was the first time I actually felt the winter coldness! I was wearing a long sleeved shirt, a sweater, a long skirt, leggings, socks and boots - and I was still cold!!!! I now declare it is officially winter!!! Now that it's official, we need to remember that WE NEED RAIN! I am asking everybody (if you want), to get a sefer Tehillim (Psalms) and read perek (chapter) 149 for the rain.

The fire is now over, but 41 people  burned to death, not including a 16 year old boy who volunteered with the firefighters, who was killed too. Hundreds of people are hurt and are in hospital, thousands of people evacuated from their homes, 250 acres ruined, forestland now in ruins. Experts say the forest will be back to be like before the fire in 40 years. Please take a minute in memory for the 42 people who died in this tragedy, for the health of all these hurt civilians and firefighters and for the other people who had different job and for the safety of everybody up north. Even though it seems far away from me, but I have friends who have family in Haifa and in that area.

Last night, I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1, or as you can say HP7.1. WOW! Very well done, definitely the best of the series!

I wish everybody a Happy Chanukah, and may all news be good news!

Opinions and Seminars

Hello! How are you? I am good but tired, thank god. I was looking at my post, and decided that my last post was a little too random, so I am using this post to show you my real seriousness. Oh, who am I kidding??!!

Last night I went to a overnight seminar that my school organized for my grade, which means 130 screaming 12 year old girls at 4am. I must say that it was a great night! I went to sleep only at 2am and woke up at 5:30am by my screaming roommate neighbors. I heard from some people that they were interested in knowing how my grade fit into my school... Well, friends and family, I don't want to scare you, but I slept in the bathroom. JOKING! 2 out of 5 building in my school are dorms and cafeteria. In my room there were three bunk-beds with hard mattresses, a spacious shower (with no cockroaches!) and bathroom. It wasn't a 5 start hotel, but definitely fine for 130 screaming 12 year old girls. The caterers were OK, I guess, meaning that the food was edible, but last night, I'll say that whoever is dieting couldn't eat anything... The morning food was worse - there was leftover salad and this cereal that I've ever heard of... Other than the food  and that the light fixture broke because of girls being wild it was an AWESOME night! Last night I was walking with my camera taking pictures of my friends - and let me tell you, some of the came out quite weird...

The schoolwork is a lot of work, but that is expected - no? I spent an hour and a half studying for a Torah test Saturday night and, then my teacher tells me the next day that it is pushed off! I could of done other stuff than studying then, and the day after she remembers to tell me that the test is pushed off! I could of actually checked y email or something like that!!!
Now it is time for me to go - so happy Chaunkah! Bye!

Chanukkah is here, so that means 1,000,000 extra calories!

Well, not for me! Did you know that I am making an experiment for a WEEK to not eat any junk food, fast food and anything that you would call unhealthy. Can I tell you something? My best friend and I went out to do some errands together, and we were both planning on stopping at the bakery and getting a Sufganiyah (doughnut with filling), but we went on the day I was not eating any junk food - and that is definitely junk food!!! Do you know how much inner strength I needed? Everybody had at least 2 Sufganiyot, and I had 0!! 0!! I mean, how could Hashem bring into this world something SOOOOOOOOOO unhealthy and SOOOOOOOOO fattening and SOOOOOOOOO good? Seriously....

Now that I have finished complaining, I will go on into good news, bad news, and worse news. I'll start with the good: the good news is that I have totally gone C-R-A-Z-Y!! Moving on to.... the bad news: The bad news is that: I haven't cleaned my room yet! The worse news: I DON'T HAVE ANY! Well, actually, if you count that I am sick right now, than I do have worse news...Most of the dancers in the show looked skinny, but not too skinnym if you know what I mean, except for one who looked anorexic. They were all smiling except for this blond haired one, and as always it was just MAHvelous!

I know that I haven't posted in a while so... PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE forgive me. So while I was sick yesterday, Abba told me to watch the movie called Prince of Persia. Now, I have to say - the plot was just STUPID! The fighting was too scary, the romance was too BLAHHY, but overall I enjoyed it even though I was hoping for some comedy it was like: "We must protect the sand!" "I am innocent!" and "Nazam was the one who killed father" and everybody had British accents, even though it was in Persia.

I have to leave now because my mother wants to go on her facebook!

You are now talking to a WINNER!!!!!!! (A loud scream included)

Hello people of earth, mars and Beit-Shemesh!
I am extremely energetic, if you haven't noticed! there is so much to write about that I don't know how to start!!!!! Okay, I have decided that I will start with.... (drums, please...) my special Science program!!! (Loud clapping). Thank you, thank you, thank you. You know that I am a prodigy in school, and that I know more than all of you here. Sooooooooooooo, that qualifies me into THE SCIENCE PROGRAM! Now, I have a VERY hard question for you: What does you learn in this program? EEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH! Wrong! I am learning Math (logic), Computers (Animations) AND Physics, which means you are HALF WRONG. Anyway, the program is great! Even though I STINK in logic, and I'd rather learn Robotics than computers, I am soooooooo happy that I am in this program!

Second, even more exciting.................................. THE RACE! (Look at the person nearest you with an impressed impression). That's right, I have run THE race of 3.6 kilometers (IN YOUR FACE), AND, AND I have won a medal (now you are wishing that you NEVER said no to Adina and that you should of asked for her autograph last time you saw her)!!!! I have won 1ST PLACE IN THE 11-12 GIRLS 3.6 KILOMETER COMPETITION! (Now you are running to EVERYBODY you know to tell them that Adina C. Hershberg, age 12 has won the race!). Well, it isn't as glamorous as it seems, because there weren't any other girls ages 11-12 in my group. (Now you are all groaning and looking sad). But not to worry my special friends, you don't know what is going to happen and the future, and I am telling you NOW  that every single person in the WHOLE ENTIRE UNIVERSE will know me as THE GREAT ADINA CHAVA HERSHBERG, AGE 12.

Whoever didn't read this with the right sound effects has to read it again with feelin'! Good Shabbos people!

Succot vacation

Hi all!

I know that it has been a while since I posted, and I think I owe you some new news... Shabbat is coming in in 2 hours, Mommy, Yosef and Ferri are doing yoga, Sara B., getting in their way and Abba trying to catch her. Earlier this afternoon I finished a book called '102 Minutes: The Untold Story of the Fight to Survive Inside the Twin Towers' by Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn in Hebrew. It is definitely a must-read for anyone who wants to learn about 9.11.2001... It was very sad and depressing, along with some scary moments, but I learned so much from it. I never knew so much about 9.11 and the day after 9.11 this year, I found this book in the school library. It gave me such an influence to appreciate the meaning of life, along with the understanding that someones life can end in one second. Recommended for people who can watch PG13 movies. I, personally couldn't eat for a while after I read chapter 8...

On that happy point, I have some good news! The Ministry of Education of Israel has given a special program to 20 schools in all of Israel, and my school has gotten it! The special program is a commitment for 6 years, 7th grade till graduation where they learn this program that includes Science, Technology and Mathematics. It gives me the ability to do 5 matriculation units (Abba's words - not mine!) on my tests in 11th and 12th grade. 25 girls in 7th grade are picked, which is about a sixth of my grade and I have applied to get in! I would have to stay on Thursday for three periods, as well as some classes in the middle of the week.

Other good news - I GOT MY OWN ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the lucky people here who know around my house, I will tell you that I got the guest room and when a guest come I must share Ferri's and Sara's room...

Have a good Shabbat and may all news be good news!

1st day of 7th grade!

Yes, there is always only one day of in everybody's life that is the first day of 7th grade, unless you have to repeat it again. I know you are all dying from suspense about what happened to me. OK, so here it goes:
Yesterday, about noon, my friends and I went on a bus to Chorev to meet our class and our teacher. My homeroom teacher is Gila Berger, and she teaches me Torah and Navi. I am with the 3 girls I asked to be with - Shira, Batya and Devorah. There are 34 girls in my class, all friendly and cute, plus there is two girls whom made Aliyah., one girl was from America, and the other girl was from Paris, France. YES! There is a french girl in my class and I LOVE her accent!!! She is so sweet and cute!! Sadly, I don't get to pick my classes yet, but the building here has an auditorium!!! The school is HUGE! There are four buildings, one of them a science building. I have separate teachers for each class, and some classes like science and PE and History we have different classrooms. Today was pretty much meeting everyone, along with a stupid science class where we learned what what difference between a chair and a tree, but of course the teacher says that we are going to use that information very importantly in the future. The subjects that I have this year is Torah, Tanakh, Halacha, Navi, Emuna (belief), Science, Technology, History, Geography, PE, Math, Art. I have my friends but hopefully, I will make new friends!!!

Starting 7th grade!!!

My best friend always said that I get brainwashed a huge amount, and very easily... I guess she is right, but only with things that sound crazy to others. For instance, mommy would always put on 70's music like Ben E. King, The Drifters, Aretha Franklin, Al Green and Taj Mahal, and I got into it. While all of my other friends are listening to junk of the 21st century, I am listening to sweet soul music, thanks to successful brainwasher mommy. So now, I am listening to 'Stand By Me' by Ben E. King on my new iPod touch. Truthfully, 'Stand By Me' has a lot to say in it's meaning. Here are the lyrics:
When the night has come, and the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we will see
No, I won't be afraid, oh, I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
So darlin', darlin' stand by me
Oh stand by me
Oh stand, stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon should tumble and fall
Or the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry, no, I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
And darlin', darlin' stand by me
Oh stand by me
Whoa stand now, stand by me, stand by me

And darlin', darlin' stand by me
Oh stand by me
Oh stand now, stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon should tumble and fall
Or the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry, no, I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
And darlin', darlin' stand by me
Oh stand by me
Whoa stand now, stand by me, stand by me
So darlin', darlin' stand by me
Oh stand by me
Oh stand now, stand by me, stand by me
Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me
Oh stand by me
Whoa stand now, oh stand, stand by me...

Personally, there are a couple of things that aren't perfect about this song, including that Ben E. King sings 'Stand By Me' and 'Darlin'' to much in this song...

Another successful brainwashing story happened to happen about a year and a half ago. As any other girl my age, we were thinking about things a year and a half in advance. So, anyway, a girl who was in 7th grade in Chorev high school, happened to be my friend, and of course I was thinking about which school to go to and how my Bat-Mitzvah was going to look like. Getting onto the point, I was asking her all these questions about Chorev. I admit, I did, I did get brainwashed, but this looked wacky a year and half ago, and now, looks normal. I decided like 12 months ago that I was going to go to Chorev if I got in and if my best-friend would. I know she was just making me nervous about telling me that she is probably not going as a joke, but, I gotta admit, my best-friend shares a lot of unnecessary details to get me scared.

So this post is about different arts, and I have moved onto the subject of 'The Art of Cookery'. A couple of weeks ago, my best-friend and I decided that we would make each other meals. I decided, to bring her to 'Italia en Israele'. When she came, I had a sign put up saying 'Benvenuto en Italia', and as well as jabbering in an Italian accent. We started out with Granita (A failed lemon sorbet), along with minestrone. Afterward, I brought out the Panzanella salad (the great Gramps' idea) which as out of this world or jupiter's world, and as a main dish, Fettuccine Alfredo (along with the great Ruth's advice), the REAL kind, WITHOUT flour. We ended dessert with Italian ice cream, some similar to biscotti and grapes. Of course, there was tons left and my family devoured it. Abba said, whom I take his opinion very seriously (sometimes), that this was good enough to serve Gramps. You understand????????? I HAVE PAST THE TEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last night I made Panzanella salad again (which was out of this world, along with Jupiter and Mars) and spaghetti with pesto. Again, sooooooooooooooooo good! Anyone who is interested in any of the recipes, email me!

I would write more but I promised Ferri I was going to make with her chocolate chip cookies, so adios!

News flashes and more

I have so many things to say that my mind is going crazy, and there will be an explosion, so I better start right now. For all movie classic lovers, I am proud to tell you that I saw Indiana Jones and the Radars of the Lost Ark! As a critic: four and a half star. Well done, well made, well acted. It has drawn me in, as movie should, right amount of suspense, and right amount of drama. I would rate it PG13 for the violence, blood, stupidism, suspense, and drama. Since I am in a phase of mysteries and thrillers, I have to say it was a good choice to watch the last half in the morning. I find the plot made well, but completely stupid and irrational. Well done... How am I as a critic???
Mazel Tov to Bentzi Hershberg for getting engaged with Michal Stavy!!! A couple of things about Michal (not as a critic): A cute, pretty, nice, caring, understanding women, and I definitely need to spend more time with her because I don't know her enough... As I see it, Bentzi is great, so his future wife HAS to be great, and so far I agree with him, that she is AWESOME! Bentzi and Michal, I have a couple of blessings to give you: Bentzi, you were always great with me (I remember sitting on your lap while you reading Harry Potter to me a billion years ago), so I know that you will be great with your children, hopefully. May, both of you, have kids that will give you Nachas, and then they will get married, have kids, and you will have nachas from you're grandchildren too, so on and on and on. That you will never have finance problems, you will have successful marriage, with success. And more to come after you're wedding!!!!!!!
On to the next subject... I am proud to tell you that I have been united with a long lost friend that I only communicated through Apple.com. Yes, I have gotten an iPod touch, 3rd generation, 8GB. It has been great, and I already have 68 apps!!!!!! It has been my new obsession! Whoever has apps to recommend, that are free, are PLEASE welcome to email me...
For all classic book lovers, I have some good news to you too... I will give you an introduction first... I was never to fond of fantasy books, and I found books like Eragon, Pendragon and more unreadable (with an exception for Harry Potter)... But, I have seen the movie 'Prince Caspian' from the Narnia series, and that gave me an inspiration to read the series Narnia. So I have read 'The Magicians Nephew', and even though I don't feel like being a critic now, I have to say that it was a very very good book. I am also reading right now, my dear friends, 'Great Expections' by Charles Dickens.
That is all for now, and may all news, be good news...

Photography Camp

Hello people of earth and beyond,
I am in the United States of America right now, Palo-Alto, California to be exact, and I just wanted to let you know about some things that have been going on. We have been at California right now for a bit more than a week. It was all very nice, and I have to say that the weather here is SOOOOOOOOOOO much better than the east coast, Israel and any other place in the world. I don't know if I ever told you, but since we are going to be in Palo-Alto for two weeks, all the kids over the age of three are going to camp. Yosha-Bear and Ferri are going to the Chabad camp called "Gan Israel" and for short "Gan Izzy". I am going to a Photography camp right now. Yes, it is true!!! Today was the first day, and I have to say bye-bye to Auto because I am never using Auto again. Photography camp is AMAZING! I didn't know six sevenths of what my teacher Tom was saying, and I didn't even know I didn't know them! It is definitely the greatest camp I have ever went to so far... Unfortunately, it is only for three days. So, what we did was, learn almost EVERYTHING known to man about cameras. We didn't take any "amazing" photos, but that will happen tomorrow, when I am going to go outside to the real world and take some award-winning pictures. Amazingly, too, there is Tom my teacher, Nicole, his assistant, me and some other kid. So, in conclusion - each of the campers have their own teacher. Now that is just truly AWESOME! By the end of this camp, I am going to have my own portfolio!!! And now you can call me a camera geek!!! Tom knows everything about everything about everything in photography!!! Now for all camera geeks in the world, I have a test for you:

  1. What is Aparture?
  2. What is Shutter?
Now if you answer both those questions right, that makes you a nerd, and if you answer one of them right, you are a half nerd. Now, in conclusion, that makes me a nerd and a half!!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!! I am so funny!!!
Have a great summer!

I AM DONE WITH 6TH GRADE!!!!!!!!!!

I know!!!!!! I can't believe it!!!! I am never going back to that school (unless to say hi to my sister next year), and after what happened this year - I am SOO happy to say that. I always need to come up with different things to write about in my posts, but this one I have put a lot of thought (yea, right)...
As you might know or might not know, in 8 hours I am going to be in a taxi on the to the airport, to have a month trip of FUN in the USA. So, I was complaining (I do that a lot) to Abba that there hasn't been such good movies for kids that came out this year, and that means that we'll have terrible movies. But, oh boy, was I wrong!!! Abba went on the US AIR (which we are flying) and found the movies that are going to be on our flight. In total there will be 20 movies. Some of them are movies that I am not allowed to watch but I want to (Awwwwwwww), some of them are movies that I am not allowed to watch but I don't want to (no comment), some of them I am allowed to watch but I want to (YAY!) and some of them I am allowed to watch but I don't want to (no comment)!!!! Did you understand that? If you did, you get an A- and if you didn't you get a B+!!!!!
I have so much to do - but I am SOOOOOOOO not in the mood to do them, especially when I am enjoying the last hours of spending time with this dear computer and this dear house... This is what I have to do: Make muffins, finish thank-you letters, address thank-you letters, send thank-you letters, pack suitcase, pack carry-on, scream and check me email. So far, all I did was pack a little bit, scream and check my email (which I have to do again in 3 hours - remind me).
So, I have been doing some research via my friends and I saw that I have the LARGEST INBOX IN MY EMAIL THAN ANYONE IN MY GRADE!!! Isn't that so cool? I have 2,167 emails in my inbox and 3,670 in my all-mail. Isn't that amazing? And I have to add that I don't get 1,000,000,000 emails a day like Abba or Mommy, but I am using 27% of my space in my email. I know this might sound pointless to you, and it is, but I just thought this was an interesting fact.
I have one good thing about school from the past week - I learned PI!!!!!!!!! IT IS SOOOOOO COOL!!! It is something like 3.14159265 (just google pi)... It is such a mind blowing factor!!!
I'll probably not post for 1,000,000 to toodles for now!! BYE!!!

There is so much to catch up on, and I don't remember if I posted since my Bat-Mitzvah, and if I didn't, I wanted to say thank you to you all who came, and I know that it is sooooooo hard to come... For those who want the translation - email Abba and bug him, because it is not working for me! Abba posted pics of my Bat-Mitzvah on this. If you have a problem with the link - comment, email me or email Abba. Thank you. Autographs when I see you next (no flash!!).
I wish I could write more, but Ferri is waiting for the computer.... :(
C ya later!

Sometimes it takes me hours to think of a title...

It's true, even if I don't like to admit it. Now a couple of things in mind:
1. I've been thinking: in TextMesaggingLanguage there is LOL - which stands for Laugh out Loud. Now, we like to say it out loud liken the way it looks - lol, and then, you can say it in a Hebrew accent like this Looooooooooooooooool or לול... Now, that spells a chicken coop in Hebrew... Isn't that funny???
2. Mommy got an iphone! LOL!
3. LOL!
4. LOL!
5. People ask me if I'm excited for my Bat-Mitzvah! Of course I'm not excited for my Bat-Mitzvah!!! LOL!
6. LOL!
7. LOL!
8. LOL!
9. I ran 2 kilometers this morning!!!!!! LOL!
10. LOL!
11. LOL!
Had anough LOLs!
Bye!

Countdown... Countdown... Countdown...

There are simple things in life, and there are more complicated ones... For instance - a 2 year old. That's simple. They cry when they're sad and smile when they're happy. For more complicated - How do you get your watch to be on the same exact time as the radio? I've been trying... Anyway, I'll have to do that again in America and back... So if your wondering about the Countdown - it means that you don't know me enough (I'm only joking)! You guessed right - it's my BM (explanation in the bottom)! So here's what's new:
1. Did you know that you should take 6,000 steps to maintain your weight, and 10,000 steps to loose weight? The force of the internet informed me that... It's just that I found that I have a pedometer on my Ipod, and kept me wondering... So we made a deal, that if I take 60,000 steps in a week (Sunday through Friday), then I will get a book. So we tried it one day, and I did only 6,418 steps, and that was including the running that morning. So my mom said that we'll cut it down to 32,000 steps...
2. Grandma Judy and Grandpa Saul are coming from Turkey tomorrow!! YAY!
3. I regret to inform you, that according to law, the Schools must teach their students according to their books and information, but I might add, that my school staff must spend 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 in PRISON (or until they die, if that comes first)!!!! And have their computers taken away... This is what we are learning in Math class: If I draw a picture of a room, which one is bigger - the actual room or the picture? And in Science: What does the heart do? What does the blood do in your body? I know! It will go into my brain and start eating my eyes!
I mean, Teachers are supposed to be SMART for pete's sake!
BM = Bat-Mitzvah
That;s is what's new! What a wonderful day!

Bat Mitzvah Invitations!

Yes, yes, yes, it's true!!!!!!!!! I know!!!! It is SOOOOOOOOOo exciting! Those in Israel should get it today or tomorrow and those in the rest of the universe - later this week. OK, so lets go to news:
1. You might be asking me what's new with the chess. So, what I could say is that I have gotten better, but I am still so bad, that in a game that I played with my friend we both ended up with only a king in each side. Talk about embarrassing!
2. I ran 10 minutes this morning with my trainer!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh! It was with 2 uphills AND it was a 1.30 kilometers. Which is 0.8 miles, if your wondering.
3. It is sooooooooooooooooo hot, and it's only May!!!!!!
4. I am counting down the days to the upcoming events!
5. I just learned a new word: Splendiferous! It is an awesome word!
6. As you know or as you don't know, I read the Harry Potter series out loud to Yosef. So, in short we are proud to say that we finished the 3rd Harry Potter book and we started the 4th!
7. School is a huge disappointment.... You want to hear a conversation between me, my best friend and my science teacher? (Shira's my best friend)(everything is supposed to be in Hebrew):
Teacher: What school are you going to next year?
Me and Shira: Chorev in Jerusalem
Teacher: Wow! Uch, that means we really need to get going with the work because Chorev has high standards...
(Me and Shira nod)
Teacher: Did you learn about the body (Biology)?
Me and Shira: No....
Teacher: Wait a second, your saying that you didn't learn anything in 4th and 5th grade about the body?
Shira: We learned about the teeth.... With a different teacher...
Me: Yea, it was in 2nd grade. (stiffening a laugh)
Teacher: Oy, Oy, Oy... As you know, it's not my fault, you should have learned it, and we have 10 more weeks of school and we need to finish the subject about light and sound AND do Biology.... Oy, Oy, Oy....
Me: So what are we going to do?
Teacher: Well, I guess I will need to teach you something... We'll start next week Monday...

Monday:

Teacher to class: Where is the Brain? Where is the Heart? What do the Muscles do? How many fingers do we have?

Next week:

Teacher to Class: How do you draw a body? What does the heart do? Give me examples of how almost all of the parts work together...

End!

Seriously..... That was how it was? We could seriously be learning something more interesting and harder!!!!!!

I'm sick............

Yes, that is true, unfortunately, but fortunately I have to tell you about a couple of cool stuff. First things first, I learned how to play Chess. You might ask my why, so there is a couple of answers. First of all, Abba brought a set from America, so I decided there is a chance. Also, I was fed up that Abba would always play with Yosef and I wanted him to play with me. If you want to know what I thing about it - I think it's a great game but WAY TO S........L...........O...........W......... I've played 2 games, which I lost in both, but taking a lot of the opponents pieces with me. I am pretty proud of myself, though I don't know if I want to continue.
Another AWESOME game is called Bananagrams, and it is sort of like scrabble but faster and better. You get 21 tiles, and you have to set them up like in scrabble, but you don't take turns and you can take stuff apart. If you finished all of the tiles - you won, in short. Mommy LOVES this game. So do I.
Bye!
Hugs and Kisses!

Miracles / Walt Whitman

OK, you would think that is a poem, and you happen to be right. This is the whole story: in English class we read the poem Miracles / Walt Whitman which I think is beautiful. Than, my teacher said that we need to write our own "Miracles" poem with the first two lines, plus the last line. So here is Walt Whitman's poem:

Why! who makes much of a miracle?
As to me, I know of nothing else but miracles,
Whether I walk the streets of Manhattan,
Or dart my sight over the roofs of houses toward the sky,
Or wade with naked feet along the beach, just in the edge of the
water,
Or stand under trees in the woods,
Or talk by day with any one I love,
Or sit at table at dinner with my mother,
Or look at strangers opposite me riding in the car,
Or watch honey-bees busy around the hive, of a summer forenoon,
Or animals feeding in the fields,
Or birds--or the wonderfulness of insects in the air,
Or the wonderfulness of the sun-down--or of stars shining so quiet
and bright,
Or the exquisite, delicate, thin curve of the new moon in spring;
Or whether I go among those I like best, and that like me best--
mechanics, boatmen, farmers,
Or among the savans--or to the soiree--or to the opera,
Or stand a long while looking at the movements of machinery,
Or behold children at their sports,
Or the admirable sight of the perfect old man, or the perfect old
woman,
Or the sick in hospitals, or the dead carried to burial,
Or my own eyes and figure in the glass;
These, with the rest, one and all, are to me miracles,
The whole referring--yet each distinct, and in its place.

To me, every hour of the light and dark is a miracle,
Every cubic inch of space is a miracle,
Every square yard of the surface of the earth is spread with the
same,
Every foot of the interior swarms with the same;
Every spear of grass--the frames, limbs, organs, of men and women,
and all that concerns them,
All these to me are unspeakably perfect miracles.

To me the sea is a continual miracle;
The fishes that swim--the rocks--the motion of the waves--the ships,
with men in them,
What stranger miracles are there?

This is mine:
Why! who makes much of a miracle?
As to me I know nothing of miracles.
To see the beach and the sand and the waves,
Or the book and the words,
Or to see feet running.
To laugh at jokes that the others make,
Or flour and water form some bread,
Or mother-daughter love,
Or to make music from the piano.
Or hike the mountains of the world,
Or learn the astronomy of this galaxy.
Or to see people healthier than I,
To feel hatred or love -
For those are miracles.
What stranger miracles are there?

What do you think?

Adina!!!! Is a Ballerina!!!!!!!!!!

That is what Ferri is singing right now, and she asks me - do you want to become a ballerina? I said yes, not meaning that it is possible for different reasons. I have a question for you guys - and if you answer it will prove to me that your reading my blog because I send it to like 24 people and I highly doubt that even half of them read it. No offense. OK, so the question is - if you get to travel in any place in the world ans see - where would it be and why? Either comment or email me. Thanks!

Happy Pesach!

Hya everyone!
How are you? So a couple of news flashes -
1. Mommy is sick.......... And I had to turn over the kitchen for Pesach with Abba... Now I am relaxing but she is still sick...
2. The Seder was AWESOME!!! I really loved it, especially the BEST charoset in the world that I made! I will make an effort that next year before Pesach I will post it. Also, like always I was the only one left with Abba when we finished, and that was at 11:00pm. I really hoped we would finish at 1 or something like that.
3. Sara has expanded her vocabulary and she was SO cute! She even said a 5 word sentence, thanks to Philadelphia Chickens and Rhinoceros Tap... (Whoever understands can understand).
4. I have to comment about the comment Grandma Judy gave me about the last post. So Grandma - that is true, but most of them are. And also, all the politicians don't act like themselves, they act like what they're crowds want to.
5. Very interesting - I read an article that is about a boy in Israel, and he saved his money from his Bar-Mitzvah and also by selling stuff by ebay and from that, he bought a little apartment that he renovated. After that, he rented out the apartment and that way he is making like BIG money. He also did an online course about that. That got me thinking. For Bat-Mitzvahs, you usually get Money, Jewelry and Sefarim. I am not sure how much money I get, but I talked with Mommy and Abba about it and I have decided that I am going to invest it. I am also making a business, and I will give you more information later. Anyway, have a great Pesach!!!!!!!!

Nice Quotes

So, funny enough, there are quotes in my Sudoku book that I got in the Airport in England. Here is a couple that I liked:
"Continuous effort, not strength or intelligence, is the key of unlocking your potential" - Liane Cardes.
"A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men" - Roald Dahl
"[Mathematics] is an independent world created out of pure intelligence" - William Wordsworth
"A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool" - William Shakespeare.
Another one that I like - "Every politician it a human in disguise" - Matisyahu song

Books, Movies, Comparisons - HOMEWORK!

But, as I might ad, homework I WANT to do and share with you. So this is my second day of vacation because I am sick, and lately my brother got our family watching the Star Wars movies on youtube. YES! They have them! Mommy and I were talking about that we have not seen the third one where Annikin goes bad. Anyway, we saw it about half an hour ago, and then we started comparing it to Harry Potter! So, if you want to hear it, you can read on, because I am (almost) sure you like either one of the them or both.
1. Luke and Harry are both orphans. What you see from both of them are that they are NOT SCARED, even though they are very very close to their enemy. After all, their enemy killed their parents. You might say that is not true since Darth Vader IS Luke's father, and he didn't kill his mother. If you see Star Wars 6, Obi-Wan-Kenobi tells Luke that Darth Vader betrayed and murdered his father which is true, and with his anger, and with all of his 'trying to save Padme' was actually killing her.
2. Both teachers, Dumbledore and Obi-Wan-Kenobi saw there was a lot of bad in them and tried to keep them away, but failed. After that, they were secretive about it to the next generation (Harry and Luke) and tried to make it right for them. When Luke and Harry find out a little bit and are confused their teachers tell them seeing they can't hide it.
3. Both Annikin and Tom showed significant powers (Annikin - off the scale. Tom - magic powers) and they both were second class people being slaves and orphans.
That was what we talked about, and I am sure there is much more but I wanted to share this with you.
Now, I send this blog to about 15 - 20 people. I want to know how many people actually read it, so if you read this when your done, please press one of the reactions or comment. Thanks!
Also, there is a hole on Star Wars! They made a mistake and I am starter than them! If anyone has an answer, you could tell me. How does Darth Vader know he has a son, because he never no one ever tells him. You could say that he could feel him in the 'force' or his last name was Skywalker! Interesting, huh?
Need to go!
Bye!

If you were able to cure a sickness what would it be?

Well, I can't exactly answer that because I would want to say Cancer, but then I would want to say the Common Cold and then I would think of the Chicken Pox. Seriously. What do chicken pox do to you! At least if you have a cold you get to enjoy the little bot of vacation. Chicken Pox are itchy and annoying and painful. Nothing good about it. Well, actually, Ferri has them again. A bad case. Its just that if you have it under the age of 2 you get it again and it is worse, and when she had it, it was very borer-line...
Also, I went running this morning for the 3rd time, and it was the best workout I had EVER had. I am serious. I also went to work with Abba today and that was very fun...
OK, I need to go! Bye!

If you have a secret power - what would it be?

Well, if you shared it with someone it won't be secret anymore but whatever. My (un)secret power would be to be able to make something out of nothing. Meaning, if I forget my lunch, I would be able to make my lunch again in less than a second. If I forget my bus card, I would get it. But, I would only be able to use it for a worthy cause, unlike when I would remember that I wanted a candy, but I didn't forget it. Do you understand or does make any sense? Another thing thta I am proud to say is...... (drum-roll please).... I am going to learn how to run! Not that I don't know how to run but I am going to have a personal trainer training me for a 5k run!! Last time I probably ran 1k in the 5k race but I want to do it all, and since Abba can't help me because he doesn't have time, I am going to have a personal trainer! YEAH! I am so excited! We are going to start Monday morning (tomorrow) at 6:30am! YAY!
Happy Purim!
Love you!
Bye!
xoxo!

Ahhhhhh, England......

England, England, England....... What can I say? So much has happened!!! I missed you guys so much, and kept thinking of all of you! I was going to send you postcards, and I got them, but I have not sent them yet... So here is what happened (I will start from the night before):
Sunday night: I went to Emmi Polansky's Bat Mitzvah, sad I needed to go early, but excited that the next morning I would be in a different continent. at 8:30pm precisely, I left with Mommy to go to Modi'in - the city Esti now lives in. Coming there with a backpack and a medium sized suitcase, I was soooooo excited. I tried to go to bed, but that didn't really work since I couldn't fall asleep. I would go to the Bathroom, Read and just lie down till I actually fell asleep. I could tell you I fell asleep pretty late...
Monday: Woke up 5:00am in the morning, and left at 5:40. On the plane by 9:00am, went through the Ocean and got there. It was amazing. It was snowing. It was 0 degrees out. It was amazing. That was what it was. Well, actually, a bit more - so this is it: Esti's grandfather, Her mom - Naomi's father picked us up at the airport and drove us to Center Parcs (yes - they spell it that way). There, we picked up our bikes and got to our Cabin. It was SO cool! It had 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 4 TV's, 1 fireplace, 1 little kitchenete and 4 walls. It did have more but it wasn't so glamorous. We had to ride our bikes everywhere so I am proud to say that I am getting quite good at biking. And by the way, this whole time, it was snowing softly. We went to the little supermarket and picked up some odds and ends plus a couple of movies. That night we watched the movie 'Wild Girl' (OK movie, not in the top 3 out of the 5 movies we watched that week)and went to bed.
Tuesday: Woke up, watched a little TV with Esti, had breakfast, got dressed and davened. After that we went to the pools. IT WAS AWESOME!! It had a couple of parts - there was a main pool which was very big, and had huge waves coming every 15 minutes. Other than that it had a pool that part of it was outdoors (the rest was indoors) and the water is really warm so, if the water came to my shoulders and the water is very warm, you would think I wouldn't be cold. BUT it is snowing outside and it is freezing. It was so cool! From the outdoor pool, there was a ride (other than all the other cool water rides) called the Floom. It was AWESOME! After we showered got dressed and dried ourselves, we biked to a place where we did Laser Gun Shooting, where you would get one of these huge guns that I could barely pick up and they would shoot up these clay stuff that you need to shoot, the more you shoot the more points you get. Lets just say me and Esti did the worst since we could barely hold up the gun. After that we did Bowling, I got my Swatch and we had hot Chocolate. Oh yea, I forgot, we saw a movie. This time called 'Are we there yet' - and it was so funny I almost cried (that is totally in the best 3 out of 5 movies). Then I went to sleep.
Wednesday: All the morning stuff like the day before, except that we didn't have time to watch TV because we had to rush to the Quad Biking. Now, you might thing that is a really weird thing but it is motorcycle with 4 wheels instead of 2, and you go around splashing in mud. That was AWESOME! We went home, watched TV, went to the pools, maybe watched a movie - I don't remember - I'll tell you about them in the end and went to bed. Oh, also somewhere in the day we rowed a boat across the lake.
Thursday: The whole routine, and we did get to watch a little TV and did paintball. Now THAT WAS PAINFUL!!!!! I still have the marks on my legs, and trust me it is NOT a pretty sight. The first game someone shot me from close up - and I can tell you it KILLS! Esti also got hurt so we decided to stay put behind this fort and just shut. After a while we found that it wasn't shooting, because it was so heavy we weren't holding it right. I am not going to say that was the funnest thing, but it was plenty fun. Watched a movie, went to bed. Oh, right - we went to the pools again.
Friday: The whole movie routine just that again we didn't watch TV. We needed to drop of our bikes because we were leaving the afternoon. On the way we bought some duck feed and we fed the ducks. After that we had to talk 100000000 kilometers to get to Esti's grandfather. We drove back, did a little shopping at this mall called Broadwalk. We lit candles for Shabbos, and we ate and went to bed. By the way, we stayed at Esti's grandparents.
Shabbos: We woke up, relaxed and went to Shul - did you know they had a choir?? It was so weird! It was also the first time I was at a Shul out of Israel! We ate, had the AMAZING sweet and sour chicken and played some Texas Ho'ldem. After that I was pretty bored... After Shabbos ended, we went to see Esti's grandmother from the other side, and then we went to see AVATAR!!!! It was great! I loved it, except for the fact that I was scared I wouldn't be able to fall asleep that night. But I did.
Sunday: Went touring London, went on the tube, river and saw STOMP - that was AMAZING too!!! I LOVE IT!!! There are some pictures from London that I sent you.
MOnday: Whole morning routine, except that instead of watching TV we watched another movie. We went to the Luton London airport, went some shopping, got Ben and Jerry's Ice cream, left, and the rest is history.
Here are the notes: The most it snowed was an inch or so every day, which was pretty aggravating. Also, the other movies were RV (love it!) and Confessions of a Shopalic (ahhhh??)
Got to go!! Bye!

Next stop, the old country

Now, that sounds really weird, but I read that in a book - when a girl is taking a school trip to England and her teacher says it when they are on the plane to England. I guess that tells you everything - YES - I AM GOING TO ENGLAND!! If you want to know the story, here it is: My 1 out of 2 BFF - Esti, for her Bat-Mitzvah present from her parents are that she can choose a friend, and together with her friend and her mom they would go to England. It sounds like one of those wacky fantasies - but it's true! I am going this coming Monday for a week and a day. I am so excited! If everyone is wondering what we are doing - so, we I am going to arrive in her house Sunday night, since we would have to leave early the next morning. We will arrive early afternoon in England, and we are going to tour London (YAY!!) - I am SOOOOOOOO taking me camera and 1,000,000,028 AA batteries. After that, that night or something like that - we are going to go to this resort called 'Center Parks' which has 4 parts. We are going to stay there and do all this cool stuff! For Shabbos we are going to stay at Esti's grandparents. On Saturday night, we are supposed to see something great. Also, it is going to be SO SO SO SO cold - so I am supposed to bring gloves, hats, and scarfs - wow!
Well, about rain, it is going great in Israel, it was pouring when I was waiting for the bus!!
Abba - I miss you! I also miss everyone else!
Last thing - if you want to know more at Elveden in Center Parks where we are staying at - here is a link -

Hippies

That is the word my friends are into! There is always SOMETHING that my friends are into. One time it's the song 'Party in the U.S.A' (UGH!!!!), another time it's the singer 'Demi Lovato' (DOUBLE UGH!!!!) and a different time it's about the Apple Ipod. So it all started when my BFF (my best-friend-forever) saw me gluing a piece of paper where I wrote the word Peace nicely, and called me a Hippie (as a joke). Then, while my class was in English Period, she told my friends about it. So I asked them why they were calling me a hippie. They said because I wanted Peace. Seriously. I asked them if THEY wanted peace in the world, smacking it hard back on their faces. I just thought that was just HILARIOUS! Well, to tell you the truth, I don't know how much of them ACTUALLY know what a hippie is. Peace.
Now I have a question for you all and answer - either comment or send me an email - WHAT is the REAL point of going on Pointe shoes?
Peace!
Adina

Chorev

I have some great news!!!!!!!!!! - I GOT INTO CHOREV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which means I am going to the 3rd best school in all of Israel!! You know, just to think of that, sounds extremely cool!!! So here is what's new:
1. Ferri is learning about Vivaldi in Gan - isn't that just adorable?? She is learning it in this music program. Imagine it. The world would be a MUCH MUCH better place if kids were learning about Classical Music at 5 years old... Look, I admit, I didn't know about Vivaldi till I was 7 or 8 years old, when I went to a Ballet/Modern show with the music of the 4 seasons.
2. I am going to ENGLAND in 26 days!!! This is TO TO TO TO awesome! Imagine this: A cute 11 and a half girl with her best-friend and the best-friends mom touring London! How awesome is that??? I am, I have to admit, a little bit nervous. I first got scared that I will need a Visa to get in (which I don't), and then I got freaked out that of all these stuff. BUT, other then that I am SO SO SO SO SO SO excited! I am also a nervous that I'll get all shy, and I won't FIT IN with my best's friends mom. But you know what, I am not that nervous about that anymore. First things first, she lets me call her by her first name, and who knows how many hours I was at their house. It is also cool that I will set foot on 3 CONTINENTS this year!!! and also the coolest ones (sort of) - North America, Europe and Asia. Isn't that groovy? 3. Yosef is reading 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' in Hebrew. He is SO into it! You know how I know it? He walks around sometimes reading it - and you know what? I wanted to call Obama or whoever and make it a National Holiday, or give 'Diary of a Wimpy kid' a medal or something... Not that him reading is something bad.
4. Have you heard of the magazine YALDAH? Well, it is a magazine made BY Jewish girls and read BY Jewish Girls, and every year girls send out applications to be on their Eitorial Board. I did!!! And I didn't get in... It was so sad... I had all my hopes up, and all they did was bring them down. JUST JOKING! I mean, I was disappointed...
Love,
Adina
